What is Skype?
Skype is a free computer-to-computer based phone application that works on most common kinds of computer and operating systems throughout the world.
Now you can receive the benefits of hypnotherapy from Valorie Wells in the comfort of your own space.
This service is especially designed for those who may not be able to access our office due to disability or distance.
You will need a computer/laptop/tablet with microphone and speakers/headset to activate your free account from Skype
It is very easy to use.
A Broadband / DSL is internet connec tion is recommended.
A microphone and speakers are necessary too of course.
For the best quality audio, it would be wise to purchase a headset / microphone that plugs into your computer rather than relying on your computer's external speakers. Acessories that plug into the USB port on your computer probably offer better quality sound, as USB connections will not slow down the audio transmission from the internet to your computer (as some sound cards might). Everything is encrypted by Skype before it is transmitted to the internet and then automatically decrypted by the receiving person's computer. In this way all communication is private,confidential and cannot be intercepted.
| Preparation for the telephone or Skype call
- Please be available for the pre-arranged session and make the call at the agreed time. You are responsible for the cost of your telephone call. Your appointment is reserved for you just as if you were to coming to the office in person. Failure to be available for the session without prior contact will result in forfeiture and no money will be refunded.
- If circumstances require you to change the arranged appointment time call me at 816-590-1200 or contact me at valoriewells@att.net at least 24 hours in advance. We will arrange another time for your Hypnotherapy session.
- Please ensure that you will not be disturbed during the session.
- If you are using a telephone, the best is a speaker phone, a bluetooth, or a headset for this purpose.
- Use a a recliner or comfy chair and remember to use the bathroom before making the session call.
- Avoid alcohol, recreational drugs and caffeine prior to the session

Is it safe to be hypnotized without the hypnotist present?
Just as when hypnotherapy is used in the office, the client is never out of control. And, using Skype technology allows the client to close their eyes and acheive a eep level of hypnosis, using the sound of the hypnotherapist's voice. Together, we will discuss the plan, your role and responsibilities in it before the session begins.
Do you charge if we get cut off or have a `dropped call` with Skype?
You should be able to call back immediately. Everything possible will be done to re-establish the connection if the Skype connection drops. In reality this is a rare event, and if the connection cannot be re-established, then the session will be continued at a later date. Fees would not be refunded under these circumstances.
