Hypnosis allows clients to re-adjust sleeping patterns by reducing emotional disturbances and poor sleeping habits. Every client in Valorie's office learns self-hypnosis, which is a very useful tool to turn off the tendency to replay the tape of the day. Most clients experience a fabulous night's sleep the same night of their hypnosis appointment!
Panic, Anxiety, & Depression
Hypnosis often allows depressed or anxious clients to take back control of their own lives. Clinical hypnotherapy is like turning down the volume on your emotional side and turning up the volume on your "wise voice" within. Even long-standing "bad" habits, like compulsive hair-pulling (trichotillimania), teeth grinding (bruxism) and nail biting can be relieved with hypnotherapy.
It is not reasonable to turn off pain completely. However, hypnosis allows you to turn down the intensity of chronic pain such as inflammation, chronic pain syndromes and other conditions, often by referral from medical staff. It's recommended that you schedule at least 3 appointments and then evaluate the effectiveness of hypnosis for you.
Preparation for Childbirth
Many expectant mothers and their labor coaches find hypnosis a useful method to help Mom sleep deeply in the last several months of the pregnancy. Additionally, the ability to visualize a pleasant and restful place becomes a wonderful tool to encourage the laboring mother to relax her breathing as well as her muscles during labor. Both mother-to-be and labor coach are trained in how to use hypnosis before, during and after childbirth. Valorie Wells is available, for a reasonable rate, to attend the labor in the hospital, as allowed by medical staff.
